Nothing leaves your firm until it is correct.

Dara sits inside Microsoft Word and reviews legal documents against your sources before anything leaves the firm. It identifies conflicts and unsupported claims, recommends fixes and assigns a Consistency Grade.

8. Confidentiality

The Seller may disclose Confidential Information to third parties.

Each party shall keep confidential all information received in connection with this Agreement and shall use it only for the Transaction.

This clause does not prevent disclosure required by law or a competent regulatory authority, provided that notice is given where permitted.

9. Warranties

The representations and warranties set forth in Section 4.2(a) shall survive for a period of 24 months following Closing.

The Problem

The most expensive hours in law are spent checking, not thinking.

01

Errors get through

A junior misquotes a definition. The statute says one thing. The memo says another. No one catches it before it reaches the client.

02

Senior time gets consumed

Partners and senior associates spend hours on accuracy work that does not require their judgment. It just requires their seniority.

03

Nothing is documented

When a conflict is missed, there is no record of what was checked and what was not.

The Risk

Things still get missed.

AI adoption has moved faster than firm controls. Most lawyers are still working from fragments copied into generic tools, without the complete matter in view.

Documented consequences

01

Mata v. Avianca

Consequence

$5,000 sanction

Lawyers submitted a brief containing fictitious cases generated by ChatGPT. The court imposed a fine and the failure became a standing ethics warning.

02

Park v. Kim

Consequence

Referral to committee

The Second Circuit referred an attorney to the grievance committee after she filed a brief with nonexistent citations generated by AI.

03

Wadsworth v. Walmart

Consequence

Admission revoked

A judge fined attorneys and revoked admission after they filed motions citing eight cases that did not exist anywhere in law.

The Gap

The tools built to help have not solved this.

Harvey

Research and first drafts

Harvey accelerates legal research and turns instructions into a first draft.

What's missing

A final check of the finished document against the statute, client brief, or other sources selected for the matter.

Microsoft Legal Agent

Document analysis and redlining

Microsoft Legal Agent helps lawyers analyse, negotiate, and redline documents inside Word using firm playbooks.

What's missing

A matter-specific final gate that keeps unresolved conflicts visible before send.

Spellbook

Clause review and redlining

Spellbook benchmarks clauses, flags non-standard terms, and speeds up contract review.

What's missing

Verification against the governing law, with every finding resolved before the document leaves.

The Dara Standard

These tools make lawyers faster. Dara makes what they produce certifiable.

The Solution

This is where Dara comes in.

Dara sits directly inside Microsoft Word. When a document is ready, it reads it against three authoritative sources simultaneously, acting as a rigorous final gate.

Authoritative context

The document is never read in isolation.

The open web is not a source. Dara reviews against the material selected for the matter.

Audit in practice

Citation audit

If a case is cited that does not exist anywhere in law, Dara flags it immediately.

How It Works

Open a matter. Set your sources. Run the review.

One panel inside Word. No new software to learn. No documents leaving your server. Ready inside Word in under ten minutes.

Open or create a matter

Every review runs inside a matter. The matter holds the document, the reference sources, and the findings log. Work across multiple matters simultaneously without losing context.

What A Finding Looks Like

Every finding tells you exactly what is wrong, where it is, and how to fix it.

Not a vague warning. A specific conflict with the exact text, the exact reference, a plain explanation, and a proposed rewrite shown in full. Take actions in one click.

A. Statutory Definition Mismatch

Dara reviews your payment service definition against the Payment Services Regulations 2017.

Hard Conflict

Paragraph 6 uses an informal definition of 'payment service' that does not appear in the Payment Services Regulations 2017.

Current document

A payment service is defined under the PSR 2017 as "any service that enables the transfer of funds between payers."

Reference material

Payment Services Regulations 2017, Schedule 1

A payment service means any of the following activities: the execution of payment transactions, money remittance, payment initiation services, and account information services, as set out in Schedule 1 of the Regulations.

Why It Matters

The statute defines payment services by reference to Schedule 1, which sets out eight specific categories. A client reading this paragraph would be relying on a definition with no legal basis.

Suggested fix

A payment service is defined under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 by reference to Schedule 1, which sets out eight categories of regulated activity including money remittance, payment initiation services, and account information services.

B. Statutory Inversion Error

Dara catches an inverted definition under the Payment Systems and Services Act 2019.

Dara Review

Hard Conflict

Paragraph 6 inverts the statutory definition of 'payment system' defined in Section 102.

Current document

A payment system is defined under the PSS Act as "the procedures, rules, instruments, institutions, and infrastructure that do not facilitate the transfer of funds but help money flow."

Reference material

PSS Act 2019, Section 102

"payment system" means the procedures, rules, instruments, institutions, and infrastructure that facilitate the transfer of funds.

Why It Matters

Paragraph 6 inverts the statutory definition. The PSS Act defines a payment system as something that facilitates the transfer of funds. The memo says it does not. A client reading this paragraph would have a fundamentally incorrect understanding of what a payment system is under Ghanaian law.

Suggested fix

A payment system is defined under the PSS Act 2019 as "the procedures, rules, instruments, institutions, and infrastructure that facilitate the transfer of funds."
The Pre-Send Gate

The document does not leave until it passes.

Before any document is sent externally, Dara runs a final check. Every finding must be resolved or explicitly accepted with a note. When the document passes, a record is saved.

The score. The findings. The resolutions. Who reviewed, and when. That record exists whether a client ever challenges the advice or not. It is the difference between a firm that can demonstrate its review process and one that cannot.

Security and Privacy

Private by architecture. Not by policy.

Dara gives each firm an isolated environment for document review. Your documents remain separate from other firms' data and are never used to train shared models.

Lawyers work through the Dara add-in in Microsoft Word. Findings, supporting evidence, and suggested revisions return directly to the document.

Who We Serve

Built for two markets. Designed for the bridge between them.

Dara is not a generic contract checker with a jurisdiction label. It is built around the way UK and African transaction teams actually move documents.

01

UK transactional lawyers

£87,500

billable time returned per fee earner

For teams where documents move fast and the final accuracy check is the bottleneck. Dara keeps the senior lawyer in control while making the review structured, evidenced, and repeatable.

02

African law firms

Built for local law

not adapted after the fact

For firms advising in jurisdictions where precision depends on the actual underlying law. Dara was built by Ghanaian lawyers for statutes, regulations, and market practice that other tools ignore.

03

Firms working across both

UK + Africa

one review layer across the deal

For cross-border transactions where the risk sits on both sides. Dara gives teams a single accuracy workflow when UK law, African law, client instructions, and firm precedent all need to line up.

Same product, same private architecture, different legal context per matter. The lawyer chooses the sources; Dara enforces the review discipline.

Matter-aware
The Team

Built by people who know the work.

The team behind Dara has closed cross-border transactions, guided companies through regulatory complexity, shipped legal software, and engineered private systems in finance. That experience determines how Dara reviews, explains, and protects firm work.
